In this post I would like to introduce you to selling prepaid electricity making use of one of our products. Prepaid electricity is fast becoming one of the main ways of being connected to the electricity grid in South Africa. It offers convenience and gives you a sure way of keeping a tab on your electricity usage.
To start selling electricity follow these steps:
Sign Up for Prepaid Electricity
- Sign up for one of our prepaid products. To do this head on over to our Getting Started page There are various options available. If you are a small trader, sign up using our android mobile application or easy windows application. This is the fastest way of getting started. We also have an airtime vending machine and an advanced windows application that offers more features.
- Send in your documentation. The documentation may include, proof of address and your identification documents.
- Verification. Once your documentation has been received, we will verify it and activate your electricity trading capability on your specific device.
- To start trading, you will need to make a payment to your prepaid balance. The payment details will be made available to you during the first step.
Start Trading Prepaid Electricity
- Depending on the product you have chosen, you will first need to login with your username and password and then input your pin or just input your pin.
You will be greeted with the prepaid screen. On this screen all the products that are available to you can be seen. Click on the electricity icon. It will be one of the images on the right depending on the product you are using.- You will now be asked for the meter number. When you submit the meter number it may take a while for the prevend to return. Please check that there are no outstanding fees on the account. Communicate this to the client before you continue to buy electricity.
- Enter the amount of electricity the client would like to buy and submit.
- You will now either receive a printout of the electricity token or see a screen image of it. In the case of the latter you can either share or print the token that is showing on the screen. Remember that your printer needs to be setup before you can print an electricity voucher
Reprint Prepaid Electricity Vouchers
All of our products allows for the reprint of electricity vouchers. You will need to have the meter number and do a reprint with the specific meter number. You will be able to see up to the last ten vouchers that was bought through the system
